How do Mountains? Walking poems from Northern Camino de Santiago

Luanna writes in a little notebook with a running out pen, from somewhere along the North coast of Spain.

We’ve sat on scrub,

tripped down steps,

eaten dinner on the ledge.

We've hunted down fresh fruit and veg

and wondered how and why.

How do mountains?

Why does sea?

Why and how do you and me?

Birds, goats, then tender notes

of sunset turned to night.

June 2022

Where stone has split

and hills spit magic from their mouths

and water is blue and hard as stone

and rocks are soft

where green has grown
